Happy New Year..

Happy New Year!
This New Year's was a quiet one for The Smith's (I love that we are The Smiths) Matt has been sick since Friday. The poor guy has been basically bed ridden and couldn't even hardly get up at all. He wasn't improving so I took him into emerge on Sunday. It turns out he has a very bad flu bug that the doctor said could last for up to 10 days...(seriously?!) And with the flu there was nothing she could give him. He just needed rest, Tylenol, lots of liquids, Gatorade, soup annd his wife's undivided attention! lol He is finally starting to feel better! (Thank Goodness!!) I can't say I was ecstatic to spend New year's eve at home but I love my husband very much and I knew that he needed me, and that there was no other place I wanted to be if he couldn't be there. (I did pout a little bit tho..) We spent the night cuddled up on couch, watching some comedy network, rookie blue, and sipping some sparkling apple juice. It wasn't our most exciting new years but it was just what we needed. We made it to midnight and despite Matt being sick I still got my smooch at midnight :).

2012 was such a great Year for Matt and I. We were engaged, planning our wedding, getting settled in Pincher Creek, I was building a clientele, going to showers, having our stags, spending time with family (it felt like we were never home) and we got Married!! I don't know if 2013 can top that but I am very excited to be starting the New year as Mrs. Smith! I have been thinking allot today about what I want to accomplish and goals to set for 2013. There is always the getting fit, eating healthy goal..I think EVERYONE sets that one. But when I really think about what I want to accomplish in the year some of the things that come to mind are...
  •  catch up on my scrap booking, and make more memories to scrapbook! (Matt got me a cricket for Christmas so this should be fun!)
  • paint, decorate, and work on the house! I really want to get my scrap booking room looking awesome! And there are always little things to do around the house!!
  • I want to take Dre on more walks! Sometimes its hard to want to do anything once I get home from work but I really want to make an effort!
  • Spend time with the people in my life who make time for me!
  • Learn to say no every once in a while! (I`m very bad at this)
  • Enjoy being married and make some awesome memories with my husband!

That`s all I`ve gotten so far but I`m sure there will be many more to come! I am excited for another Year and am very thankful for my great husband, family and friends! xoxo

Christmas 2012

I can hardly believe another Christmas has come and gone! I feel like time needs to just slow down for a while! We had another great Christmas together its actually our 5th Christmas as a couple but our first as a married couple!

Christmas Eve was Matthew's 25th birthday! So we went out to Tony Roma's for Lunch with him mom to celebrate It was allot of fun. We made it back to magrath in time to make an appearance at the Alston party which is always allot of fun! We celebrated Matt's birthday over Chinese food with the Chipman family and then finished it off with some homemade Raspberry Cheesecake! (he isn't spoiled at all) After dinner we all gathered around to play some games and visit. Easton dressed up like Santa to surprise the kids, but in the end ended up surprising all of us! He made my mom come and sit on Santa's knee and then he announced to all of us that My mom was getting a new grand baby!! We are all so so excited for East and Kass! After the awesome news we all played some minute to win it! Then opened our awesome Christmas jammies! After that we stuffed some stockings and Matt and I headed over to East and Kass's for the night. Matt and East had a ping pong tournament and Kass and I visited into the wee hours. I'd say Matt had a pretty good 25th! I love him to bits and pieces and am so happy to have him in my life.
Dex was soo excited to see Santa!

We were up at 7 Christmas morning so we could be to mom's by 7:30 for presents... lets just say it was a struggle to get Matt out of bed! lol I am still like a little kid Christmas morning but Matt would have been perfectly fine with sleeping for a couple more hours..needless to say he did eventually getup and we headed over to mom and dad's. I love Christmas! I of course got spoiled as usual! But my favourite part is watching everyone open there gifts!! especially Dexter he was very excited and eager to unwrap he even started unwrapping everyone else's presents! ha it was so much fun!! Matt spoiled me! We recently got me a new vehicle which is my present!! a 2003 Jeep renegade! I love it!! and he got me a cricket!! (I know I am so spoiled) I love to scrapbook!! And mom and dad got me some uggs!! Jace got my name and she got me season 1 and 2 of rookie blue!! (which I have almost finished..I'ma bit obsessed)  It was a great Christmas I must say!! After a very delicious breakfast we went over to grandma Alstons to check out her loot, and then headed to East and Kass's to get ready to head to Cardston for our Smith Dinner and Grandma and Grandpa Smiths.

Dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's was delicious! Grandma Smith is such a great cook! It was so nice getting to see everyone! We brought our wedding album to share with everyone it was so fun reminiscing in the day with our loved ones! We got spoiled by Mike and Cheryl as always! They gave us some cash to go shopping, and Marky got me some lotion lip stuff and gift certificate! We are so loved! I love spending the holidays with family. Matt and I are so lucky to have such loving families! I don't know what we would do without them! After dinner I took a cat nap while Matt and Christie played cards with the grandparents. After Dinner we headed into Lethbridge to go to Marilyns. (busy day I know but we love to see everybody)
Matt Christie and Mar visiting

Dre was tuckered out from a long day of Christmasing

We got unloaded at Mar's and we decided to exchange presents! Christie and I got Eachother's names! She got me a new guess wallet, some yummy turtles, and a pandora charm bracelet! She is too good to me! I got her her own specialised hair care basket! We all visited and hung out for a while and then decided to call it a night. We slept in and woke up and hung out while Mar made a Delicious dinner. We had Lobster tale, shrimp, and garlic mashed potatoes. We enjoyed each other company and had an amazing meal. We all headed back home after dinner!

I am so thankful for both of our loving families! Christmas just wouldn't be the same without all of them! What an amazing year we have had together and we look forward to our many Chrismas's to come.
